I shot the Minister :)

I recently covered the PSEU annual conference at the Newpark Hotel in Kilkenny
where the minister for public expenditure and reform Brendan Howlin T.D. spoke.

There were all the usual shots of him speaking, being interviewed and talking to people.

But this one is my favorite, a happy minister sucking a sweet.

Nature photography

I don’t normally do this type of thing,
but “what the Heck”as my daughter is fond of saying.

It was a nice day and we went for a walk by the canal.
A walk with a camera is a good walk ruined, A bit like golf.

So here are some of the local fauna caught for prosperity
by a wedding photographer.

Costa del Dunlaoire Wedding photos

So I photographed this wedding a couple of weeks ago, Simon and Tamaryn,
a truly lovely couple.
Any old ways the weather forecast wasn’t great but when we got to Dunlaoire
for some photos on the pier, it was like the Med, really stunning sunshine.
So I look at these photos taken in March in Ireland and still kinda don’t believe it.
Here are some of them for you to have a look at and thanks again to Simon and Tamaryn
for being a pleasure to photograph.

Portrait Photography

Here are some photos from a recent family portrait session.
We did some hi-key photos (white background) and then
we did something I don’t normally do for family sessions,
Introducing…….que fanfare……. Low key (black background)
We were all really pleased with the results and now it seems
everybody loves low key photography, who knew, I thought
it was only photographers who liked it.
What do you think? Hi Key or Low Key which do you prefer?

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep

I recently became a member of this charity  nilmdts, it provides professional remembrance photography free of charge to parents of infants who for whatever reason didn’t survive the struggle for life.
In Ireland it’s also closely linked to Feileacain   The Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Association of Ireland.
It’s not something I ever thought of as very important, that is until I met and talked to parents who have been in this terribly sad situation.
If you would like to help please contact Feilecain here in Ireland or if you are a professional photographer and would like to donate your services please get in contact.
Thanks,
Fran

Wedding Photographer (Me)

Since this is my new blog I suppose I may as well include some wedding photos.

I’m going to feature some photos from weddings I have done this year in my blog over the next few weeks, so stay tuned to see some actual real wedding photography shot at real weddings.

I’m also going to try to integrate my blog posts into my (sadly neglected) Facebook page

Let’s just see how that goes, are my internet techie skills up to it?

So just the one photograph for now, from a Geraldine and Ciaran’s wedding in Aughrim and Tulfarris Hotel near Blessington, via the Wicklow gap where this was taken.

More to follow I promise :)
